Shallot is one of the horticulture plants that is classified as spices. Each year the demand of red onion is continuing to escalate at even higher scale which makes shallot significant to Indonesian. Until today, the cultivation of red onion in West Borneo province is not developed intensively. Peat soil as one of the type of soil in West Borneo province, has potential to be used as agricultural terrain, however there are disadvantages such as its physical, chemical, and biological properties regarding the application of peat soil on the field. This research was intended to study the influence of AMF (Arbuscular Mychorrizal Fungi) and tuber scission also the interactions between those two towards shallot growth and result on peat soil. This research used Split Plot CAD (Completely Randomized Design) which consisted 2 factors: AMF Inoculation as main plot which consisted of 2 standards: AMF-less (m0) and with AMF (m1) also 4 standards tuber scission that consisted: without base tuber scission (p0), upper tuber scission (p1), base tuber scission (p2) and upper & base tuber scission (p3). The total combination of 8 treatments with 3 repetitions and each unit consisted of 3 plant samples, therefore it was summed 72 plants. The result of this research showed that there was interactions between AMF treatment and tuber scission towards the variables of the amount of leaves 14, 21, 28, 35 DAP(Days After Planted). Tuber scission treatment gave the significant effect towards the height of plant 14 DAP and the total weight of tuber.
