Abstract

Farming communities are groups of people who make the agricultural sector their livelihood. Different levels of education for farmers have an impact on children's education. Parental income is a supporting factor for children to continue their education from elementary to tertiary level, where children who come from a moderate economy have a great opportunity to develop their abilities through higher education compared to children from low economies. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of the income of rubber farmers (Havea brasiliensis) on children's education in Desa Tengguli Kecamatan Sajad Kabupaten Sambas. The data analysis method used in this study is the Z test. Rubber farmers who live in Desa Tengguli Kecamatan Sajad. Sampling was carried out randomly, namely 15% of the population of rubber farmers in Desa Tengguli Kecamatan Sajad, namely 44 people. The results showed that the results of the calculation of the income assumption test for education, with a significant level of = 0.05, the Ztable value was greater than Z count, namely the Z table value of 0.22 and the Z count value of 0.088. The conclusion of this study is that there is no influence between the income level of rubber farmers on children's education in Desa Tengguli Kecamatan Sajad. So that Ho is accepted and Ha is rejected. The monthly income of rubber farmers in Tengguli Village, Sajad District is included in the low category with an average income of Rp 931,818.
