ANALISIS PENGEMBANGAN PRODUK ROTI GEMES DALAM MENGHADAPI PERSAINGAN BISNIS

The bakery sector is growing well in Indonesia, Yusuf Hadi's stated that bakery business can grow by 7-10% every year. Entrepreneurs of bakery business are urged to continue innovating in order to survive. The purpose of the research is to determine what product development is done by Roti Gemes and the factors that encourage the product development. This research method is descriptive qualitative. The informants in this study were 10 Roti Gemes consumers who matched predetermined criteria, and the resource person is the owner of Roti Gemes. Based on the results of the analysis, it was found that the product development carried out by Roti Gemes is product development in terms of flavor variants and types. Obstacles found in finding the idea of product development. The impact obtained by Roti Gemes is an increase in turnover in the last two years. Business competition is one factor that encourages Roti Gemes to do product development. By doing product development, the products offered to consumers aren’t monotonous, so consumers aren’t easily bored and switch to other competitors. So, with the development of products and how they face competitors, Roti Gemes has good potential in the face of business competition in Pontianak.
