Abstract

Caokng Village is located in Mempawah Hulu Sub-District, Landak Regency, where most of the people in that community work as farmers. Aside from their own consumption, people in Caokng village has started to develop rice cultivation for seeds since 2015 with the results of the rice seeds marketed to PT Pertani. The farming costs incurred in the labelled rice seed cultivation, namely the cost of certification lead to higher costs compared to rice cultivation for consumption. The cost of seed certification will add to the cost burden of rice seed breeder farmers. Therefore, the purpose of this study was first to find out the analysis of labelled rice seed farming in Caokng village and the second was to know whether this labelled rice seed farming is feasible. Variables and indicators used in this study were to analyse the farm revenues, farm costs, farm income, and to analyse the R/C ratio. The results of farming carried out in the second planting season of 2018-2019 resulted in income of labelled rice seed breeders for cash and total costs of Rp 135,912,000.00 and Rp 97,777,500.00. The value of the revenue ratio with the cost of labelled rice seed breeders' R/C toward the cash costs obtained in the farm of labelled rice seed breeding for cash costs and the total costs are 3.75 and 2.12. To conclude, the farming of labelled rice seed breeder farmers in Caokng village of Mempawah Hulu sub-district is feasible because the R/C is higher than 1.
